A view of a sunset over the River Clyde, Scotland.

This photo was taken from the viewpoint at the top of the Kilpatrick Hills, looking towards the hills of the Cowal Peninsula.

It was submitted to the Glasgow Gallery of Photography and accepted into their January 2024 "Red" exhibition.

During the intense solar storm in early May 24, I took my paddleboard to Loch Lomond and set off for one of the islands, looking for a spot to camp. The eastern tip of Inchmurrin has the perfect site where I could sit on the beach and wait for the aurora to start.

This is the view south, through the trees, showing off the deepest reds and purples of the night.

Probably my favourite photo I've taken so far!

This picture shows that sometimes it's simplicity and luck that produces great photos. I had gone a walk along the canal near me (remembering the camera this time) with no real goal other than getting some fresh air. Only a few minutes along I spotted this sleepy little ball of fluff floating on the dark water, it's parents keeping close and giving me the infamous swan evil-eye.

A few snaps later and I was on my way with a pic that now hangs on my wall.
